Privacy Policy

1) Scope

This Policy explains how we handle information:

On our website(s), and

In our macOS apps distributed via the Mac App Store (and any supplemental channels, if applicable).

2) What we collect

2.1 Website

Web traffic/usage data. We may log non-identifying details such as IP address, time of access, pages viewed, browser type, and files downloaded, to understand site performance and usage patterns. IP addresses are not combined with other data to identify you.

Cookies. Our site does not use cookies to process your personal data. You can configure your browser to notify, block, or delete cookies.

2.2 Email newsletter (optional)

Data we collect. Name and email address when you subscribe.

How we use it. To send the newsletter you requested.

Opt-out. Unsubscribe anytime via the link in the email or by contacting support@doobox.co.uk.

Sharing. We do not sell or share subscriber details with third parties for their marketing.

3) Our Apps (Mac App Store)

3.1 What our apps access

User-selected files and folders. Our apps only read/write files you explicitly select or grant access to (e.g., importing/exporting icon sets). Access is governed by the macOS sandbox.

iCloud Drive (optional). If a feature lets you back up or restore via iCloud Drive, the app reads/writes only the locations you choose. Apple operates iCloud and its security.

No background data collection. We do not collect personal data from your device in the background.

3.2 Payments & accounts

In-app purchases and payments. Processed by Apple. We do not receive your full payment details (e.g., card numbers). Apple’s privacy policy applies to your App Store account and purchases.

3.3 Analytics & diagnostics

Crash reports & diagnostics (optional). If you’ve enabled “Share with App Developers” in macOS/iOS settings, Apple may provide us anonymized crash logs and performance metrics to improve stability. We cannot use these to identify you.

No third-party advertising SDKs. We do not embed advertising trackers or sell your data.

3.4 App Privacy labels

On the Mac App Store, our App Privacy section reflects the above:

Data Not Collected for tracking/advertising;

Diagnostics (optional) via Apple crash reports;

User Content only when you choose (files you import/export), stored locally or in iCloud under your control.

4) How we use information

Operate and improve our website and apps

Provide support you request

Communicate about updates you opt into (e.g., newsletters)

We do not sell personal information.

5) Data storage & retention

App data. Your content (e.g., icon files) remains on your device and/or in your iCloud Drive as you choose. We don’t have access to that unless you share it with us for support.

Website logs. Retained for a limited period for security and analytics, then deleted or anonymized.

Emails/newsletters. Retained while you’re subscribed and then promptly deleted upon opt-out.

6) Your choices & rights

Access/Deletion/Correction. Contact support@doobox.co.uk to request access, correction, or deletion of data you’ve provided to us (e.g., newsletter details or support emails).

Regional rights. If you are in the UK/EU (UK GDPR/GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights, including to object/restrict processing and to opt out of sale/sharing (we don’t sell or share for cross-context advertising). We will honor applicable requests.

7) Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk. No system is 100% secure; please keep your device and Apple ID secure.

8) Children

Our website and apps are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent age of consent in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9) International transfers

If we process data outside your country, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., UK/EU standard contractual clauses) where required.

10) Third parties

Apple (App Store, iCloud, crash reporting). Apple is an independent controller for data it processes under your Apple settings and policies.

We may engage service providers (e.g., email delivery) under contracts that restrict their use of your data.

11) Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We’ll change the “Effective date” above and, where required, notify you.
